This personal project is a tribute to the beauty of Día de los Muertos, inspired by my rich Mexican heritage. Drawing inspiration from La Catrina, an iconic symbol of the holiday, I aimed to create a unique twist that blended cultural traditions with vibrant creativity.
Rather than simply recreating La Catrina, I reimagined it by combining the elegance of Catrina face painting with the colorful, dynamic forms of alebrijes. This fusion allowed me to explore bold colors, intricate patterns, and a visually captivating design that celebrates the spirit of the Día de los Muertos in a fresh and meaningful way.
